Into Exile

Pushed and shoved by guards with rifles
Into filthy cattle cars
Train tracks lead us to Siberia
Where it's 45 below

40 - 50 - 60 million
Perish under Stalin's rule
In the forests, mines and smelters
Where they work us to the bone

Bed bugs, lice, disease and hunger
Makes us steal and beg for bread
Raped, abused, interrogated
Where is our beloved home

Gates of Moscow, Red Star looming
Going forward... going backward...
Some prayers answered... others not...
Still we sing: Now thank we God
