 We flew from Asuncion, Paraguay to Curitiba, Brazil. |
 The city of Curitiba was founded in 1693 by the Portuguese. Curitiba comes from the Tupi words kuri typa " much pine " due to the number of pines in theregion prior to its founding. Population is 1.7 million. |

 After a wonderful time in Curitiba we went on a five hour bus ride to Sao Paulo. |
 Along the way we saw many banana plantations. |
